Assassin's Creed Unveils Surprising Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a unexpected partnership that breaks traditional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the formal announcement, "A strange confrontation pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where hints of prohibited ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the shadows." The narrative presents a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who charges the duo with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden group.
The mission centers on "peculiar tests and a terrifying enemy" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Changes
The trailer highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Features
Players who accomplish the mission will receive an exclusive katana together with numerous artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Addition
This release also introduces the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement."
